the way thereSince this was a cruise, we were supposed to go from NC, to CA and then finally to Vancouver where our cruise would embark. Unfortunately, a 40 minute layover was not long enough to allow us to make it to our connecting flight. The last minute change in the gate, which we by the way did not check as we were hurrying through the airport, did not help at all. Thankfully, we booked out flight in a way where we could spend a whole day to explore in Vancouver, so we were not worried about missing the cruise.
The next day was spent in Vancouver and also boarding the cruise before departure. Vancouver is beautiful, rainy, and a bit cold. Our hotel was in the city and had a nice lounge in the downstairs. There was so much to do in the downtown all the way from malls to coffee shops. It seemed as if the other end of the city was residential while one was more commercial. We had a nice ride around the city on a little sea plane. The fog initially seemed as if it would be a disruption to the view but it simply added to the beauty.
